Austrian producer holds filmmaking workshop at Fajr festival

An Austrian producer has been invited to hold a workshop on filmmaking during the 35th Fajr International Film Festival.

An Austrian producer has been invited to hold an ongoing workshop on filmmaking during the 35th Fajr International Film Festival in Iran.

Austrian producer Veit Heiduschka, mostly known for collaborations with his fellow director Michael Haneke, is holding an eight-day ongoing filmmaking workshop during the 35th Fajr International Film Festival days starting this week.

Iranian actor and producer Alireza Shojanuri has accompanied Heiduschka during the workshop, which was attended by students from Iran and several other countries.

The workshop was held at the Talent Campus in the Iranian capital city of Tehran, a venue established to discover young gifted students in various fields of cinema.

The eight-day workshop began on April 19, two days ahead of the opening of the Fajr International Film Festival, and will come to an end on April 26.

Over 100 students from 33 countries are attending the campus’s various workshops conducted by a large number of cineastes from Iran and around the world.

Heiduschka is the producer of Haneke’s movies, including ‘Funny Games’, ‘Cache’, ‘The White Ribbon’ and ‘Amour’.

Established in 1982, Fajr Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.
